Life in a medieval manor

In this webstie, you will learn most of the life in a Medieval Manor about Serfs, Lords, and many other things and stuctures what are in the manor. We will start with the basics. Most of the land a medieval manor would be used by serf's, or peasants. Once, the king owned all the land. The King then separated the land and gave them out to lord's. The lord's also separated their land and gave them out to knights to protect it. The knight's eventually gave some land to peasants or serf's. Manor's were big. They could range from 1200 to 1800 acres! Medieval manor's include many houses for serf's, priests, and the lord. They also include the lord's mill for grinding grains into wheat, the church which serf's had to go on Sundays, fields for farming,  a blacksmith shop for purchasing weapons and armor, and many other places. Manor's are self-sustaining. That means that a manor has everything that they need to survive. If they don't have it, they don't need it. They already have food, shelter, protection, and a life, what more do they need?
